Imposter Syndrome. That crippIing feeling, which blocks your own growth.
You don’t feel good enough to write and publish.
Like I felt when I launched my writing experiment 2 days ago and I saw people with 100.000+ followers casually writing the stuff that I was thinking about for a long time… 😅
Here are some reminders to myself, which I collected for when imposter syndrome arises and I want me to ‘just do it’ anyway.
1. Everybody is an imposter. 🥷
– Nobody has all the answers to everything in life.
– The more you know, the more you know you don’t know. (Aristotle 👨🦳) So if you don’t feel like an imposter, it is likely thay you are not operating on the edge of your capabilities.
2. There is always someone further on the path than you are. 🏃♂️ 🚶
– Don’t let that discourage you, instead see those people as inspiration. ❤️
– Connect with them if you can, they might even help you up.
3. Focus on the people you can help move up. Not on the ones that you can’t.🤝
– if you are one step further than someone else, you can already help them make that one step. (A post of Dan Koe made me see that more clearly.)
– They will be gratefull too.
4. See everything as a learning experiment. Not as a way to prove yourself. 🧪 🔬
– Make mistakes. Learn. Grow. (one of the Instagreen core values)
– Build a system – for when the drudgery of daily posting makes you want to quit. (Advice I just got from Hanna Larsson – who built 100k+ followers in 2 years)
5. Just do it. 🙃
– What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger. (One of my favourite clichés)
– Chill. Have some fun.
Do you experience imposter syndrome? What do you tell yourself to do it anyway?
