Starting something new can be overwhelming. Whether in design, business or life, the first period of new habits seem chaotic. Here is a reminder to myself to not panic and enjoy that time:
All ‘firsts’ are hard. So many new things coming your way. Insights. Inconveniences. Ideas. New habits that need to be formed, old habits that need to die.
In design they call this the ‘fuzzy front end’:
You don’t know what you don’t know. Yet. The puzzle pieces don’t fit. Yet. Yet, you have to trust the process.
Everything will be allright if you allow yourself the time needed to design a new mental map of the situation.
Instead of trying to force an insight or panic because you don’t have overview, allow yourself to EXPLORE.
See different things. See things differently.
Get new insights. Change your opinion. Let go of old ideas.
You need that time to slowly uncover the path that is going in the direction you want to go.
You are not lost. You are exploring.
Enjoy that time, because explorers always have the greatest stories to tell.
